MAGARI SENBEI

Package of MAGARI SENBEI rice crackers

MAGARI SENBEI” is a traditional Japanese rice cracker, known for its unique curved or twisted shape. It is made from glutinous rice flour and typically flavored with soy sauce, giving it a savory and slightly smoky taste. The name “MAGARI” means “bent” or “curved,” referring to its distinctive shape.

It has a rich, savory flavor profile. The soy sauce coating gives it a deep umami taste, balanced by a hint of sweetness. Its surface is slightly caramel iced, adding a subtle smokiness and a satisfying crunch. The texture is both crispy and airy, making it a grateful snack that melts in your mouth while delivering a bold and flavorful experience.

Of course I love these myself, but my husband specifically asked me to introduce them, so I’m sharing them with you this time.

I bought it in pharmacy near my house. I got it for 220 yen at there. (The price is as of November 2024) You can find it at any supermarkets, too. In Japan, snacks are often cheaper at farmacy than at supermarkets or convenience stores.

And you can get “MAGARI SENBEI” from here!
