Today I introduce “KAKINOTANE”.
”KAKI NO TANE” It literally means “seed of persimmon”. It named because it is similar in shape seeds of persimmon.
”KAKINOTANE” is rice cracker that soy sauce flavor with the spiciness of chili peppers. And peanuts is also in there. In Japan, we call it “KAKI PEA” (KAKINOTANE and PEANUTS).
Features of it is texture. It is crispy. When I introduced “SETOSHIO”, I explained it is crispy (“sakusaku”). “KAKINOTANE” is also crispy but it is “karikari”. Maker saids why they are “karikari” because they have a hole.
Texture is very important point but it has one more recommendation point. It is the feeling of they going down yout throat. When I was a university student, my friend said “ I can’t stop to eat KAKI PEA because l became addicted feeling of they traveling down my throat.” Then I can’t understand that words, but now I became addicted feeling of it. I can’t express it well in words, but I want you to experience it.
Ingredients and nutrition label is as detailed below.
I bought it in pharmacy near my house. I got it for 214 yen at there. (The price is as of June 2024) You can find it at any supermarket, too. In Japan, snacks are often cheaper at farmacy than at supermarkets or convenience stores.
Please be sure to try it 🙂
